Course Information:
Textbook for the course: Discrete and Combinatorial Mathematics,
Ralph P. Grimaldi
The recitation sections (COT 3100L) will be used to provide assistance with
homework assignments, further explanation of lecture topics
and give and review practice problems. You will
also take quizzes in the recitation sections which will consist of
questions or problems that cover recent recitation or lecture topics or
assignments.
Grading:
There will be a total of 500 points, distributed as follows:
First exam (75 points) |

4 quizzes (10,10,15,15 points) |

5 assignments (values range from 15-35 points each) |

Grading Conditions:
- You may only turn in late assignments twice during the semester. Unless
you make other arrangements with your TA, assignments are to be handed in
during lab only. A late assignment will receive a 25% deduction from the grade
it would have received if turned in on time.
- 4 quizzes will be given during the semester. Makeup quizzes will only be
given under odd circumstances. (Sleeping through class does not count as an
odd circumstance!!!)
- Assignments will be given a point value that is relative to
their difficulty level with a total of 125 points for all assignments.
- The instructor reserves the right to change the grading policy at any
time, but will not make the requirements more stringent than those
stated here.
All assignments, quizzes and programs are to be your own work.
No group projects or assignments are allowed.
