Test #1 (given on 9/27/2001) Solution Key (posted 10/04/2001)

Test #2 is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8, in class. Test topics include conversions between regular expressions and finite automata; the pumping lemma for regular languages; the closure properties of regular languages; and DFA minimization. The format of the test (length, types of questions) will be similar to that of Test #1.

Test #2 (given on 11/08/2001) Solution Key (posted 11/23/2001)

The Final Exam is scheduled for 7 - 9:30 pm on Friday, December 7, in the classroom (221 of CSB). The exam will be comprehensive, i.e, it will cover all topics listed under the course notes link. A Help Session is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Rm. 232 from 4 to 6 pm. If you cannot make it on Tuesday, come on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the same time to my office (203 of CSB).
