FOAL: Foundations of Aspect-Oriented Languages
A one day workshop affiliated with AOSD 2010 in Rennes and Saint Malo, France, on 15 March 2010.
Call for Position Papers
In order to stimulate discussion of new foundational ideas, we are calling for position papers of up to 5 pages, to be submitted to FOAL by January 20, 2010. Such papers should present new and possibly controversial ideas on foundational issues of aspects. Topics could include new ideas on combining aspects with other paradigms, applying recent developments in formal verification to aspects, ideas on approaches for defining the semantics of aspects, new aspect language constructs, weaving strategies that are cleaner semantically than existing languages, etc. Although the ideas do not have to be fully worked out or justified as in regular submissions, they should still go beyond generalities, and hopefully generate interest among the FOAL community.Submissions
Submissions of position papers of up to 5 pages length will be read by the program committee and designated reviewers.
As FOAL is a workshop, publication of extended versions of the papers in other venues will be possible. We will also investigate having a special issue of a journal for revisions of selected papers after the workshop.
Authors should note the following details:
- Position Paper submissions are due no later than 23:00 GMT, 20 January 2010.
- Position papers must not exceed 5 pages in length.
- We encourage use of the ACM Conference format for submissions, as this will be required for accepted papers.
- You must add page numbers (which are not part of the standard format) to your submissions, to make adding comments easier.
- Submissions are to be made to the following URL: http://continue2.cs.brown.edu/foal2010.
We will notify the corresponding author of papers that are selected for presentation at the workshop by 7 February 2010. Early registration for AOSD (you must register for AOSD to attend the workshop) is 22 February 2010. Final versions of position papers will be due on 20 February 2010.
