The architectural style description language ASDL can be used to address important issues in component-based software engineering. ASDL is built on a collection of software types that support the description of execution and interface semantics for components and systems and the representation of relationships between multiple logical views of systems. It also includes operations for modifying the system state described by the software types. The language provides a domain-independent platform for highlighting and investigating issues that are common to the design of domain-specific component-based systems.
Keywords: Component-based software engineering, software architectural style, software architecture, view
Workshop Goals: Learning, networking, discussing issues related to architectural aspects of component-based software engineering
