Dr. Pamela Wisniewski, an associate professor with Computer Science, was named as one of 31 Women’s History Month Honorees.

Dr. Sahar Hooshmand received the CECS Award for Excellence by a Graduate Teaching Instructor and her nomination has been forwarded to the university for consideration for the same award at the university level.

Computer Science graduate student Brandy King has won the CECS Award for Excellence by a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

The paper won the Best Scientific Paper award at the 25th International Conference on Pattern Recognition.

The Computing Research Association (CRA) has an annual award for outstanding undergraduate research. “This award program recognizes undergraduate students in North American colleges and universities who show outstanding potential in an area of computing research.”

CS PhD graduate Yun Zhai and Professor Mubarak Shah received an ACM SIGMM Test of Time Paper Honorable Mention award for their paper “Visual attention detection in video sequences using spatiotemporal cues

Congratulations to Irene Tanner, an undergraduate in Computer Science, who was awarded an Honors Undergraduate Thesis scholarship from the Burnett Honors College in October.

Several UCF CS students and faculty have won a “Best Long Paper” award at the 7th ACM Symposium on Spatial User Interaction.

Trustee chair professor Dr. Mubarak Shah is the 2019 winner of the prestigious ACM SIGMM award for Outstanding Technical Contributions to Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications.
