Cyber Defense

UCF finished runner-up in the Final Round of the International Cyber League Collegiate Cup competition on November 17th. UCF correctly identified and responded to all adversarial threats and scored 100% in just 65 minutes.

UCF won the 2022 NIATEC Invitational Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition hosted by Idaho State University on November 12th. Two teams from Brigham Young University finished in 2nd and 3rd Place this year.

Two UCF teams claimed 1st and 2nd places in the 2022 DOE CyberForce Competition on November 5th at the Q-Center in St. Charles, IL. Penn State finished in 3rd Place. This is the third time UCF has won the CyberForce National Championship (2018, 2021, 2022).

Two UCF teams finished 1st and 3rd in the 2022 Aviation ISAC Student Cyber Challenge on November 2nd at the Portofino Bay Resort at Universal Orlando.

Three UCF students were drafted to compete to the US Cyber Team on October 17th. All three students are members of the UCF Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition Team.

A team of UCF alumni working at Abbott Laboratories won 1st Place in both rounds of the 2022 Global Cyber Games Charity Battle held at the HyperX Esports Arena in Lab Vegas, NV on August 11th.

Congratulations to Cameron Whitehead (MSDF) for winning the DOE Conquer the Hill – REIGN Edition. 

Congratulations to the UCF Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition Team and coach Dr. Tom Nedorost for an outstanding performance in the 2022 US Cyber Open. 1470 students from all 50 States and DC competed. 

The UCF Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition (C3) Team won the 2022 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition for a record 5th time! To get to the nationals, a team must first qualify through a regional qualification round held in February.
