Cyber Defense

Michael Roberts (a current MS in digital forensics student and, UCF IT graduate) finished second in the nation at the 2020 DOE CyberForce Competition hosted by Argonne National Laboratory.

Congratulations to the CCDC Team and Coach Tom Nedorost for winning the At Large Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Regional on Sunday, March 29th. In this year’s competition the University of Alaska-Anchorage came in 2nd, and Dakota State University finished 3rd. UCF’s Team now advances to compete in the National CCDC Championship which will be held virtually from May 22-24.

The Cyber Security and Privacy Cluster at UCF, established in 2017, is a university-wide research group that focuses on integrated solutions to both the human and technological causes of security and privacy problems.

Congratulations to Hack@UCF’s Knightsec team and their coach, Dr. Tom Nedorost, for advancing to the Final Round of the inaugural 2019 Wicked6 Cyber Games held at the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas on August 8th.

A UCF team consisting of CS undergraduates Sara Aladham, Lauryn Landkrohn, Sydney Munro, and a graduate student in the MS in Digital Forensics program, Jensly Francisco, along with two alternates (both CS undergraduates) Natalie Larkin and Jacqueline Van Der Meulen has qualified as a finalist in the Wicked6CyberGames;

Congratulations to the UCF Collegiate Cyber Defense Championship team for their second place finish at the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition held on April 23-25, 2019.

The UCF Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team won the 2019 Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition held at Kennesaw State University on April 3-4, 2019.

The UCF Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team, under the direction of Dr. Tom Nedorost, competed in the virtual qualification round of the 2019 Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition on Saturday, February 23rd.

Congratulations to UCF’s Collegiate Cyber Defense Team and Dr. Tom Nedorost, team coach, for winning the Department of Energy CyberForce Competition on Saturday, December 2, 2018.

Members of the UCF Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team finished in 1st Place at the LockDown! V5 competition on Saturday, November 17th at the University of Buffalo.
