It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Amar Mukherjee, Emeritus Professor in Computer Science, on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. A memorial service was held for him on Monday, June 8th attended by family, friends and a good number of EECS faculty.

Congratulations to Drs. Niels da Vitoria Lobo and Mubarak Shah on receiving $402,880 from the NSF for their REU Site in Computer Vision. The grant is titled: “REU Site: Research Experience for Undergraduates in Computer Vision”. This is the longest-running REU Site in the US, and has been going on for over 25 years.
