The Master of Science in Computer Vision at UCF has been approved by the Florida Board of Governors to begin in Fall 2021.

The award comes at a time when cyber threats are becoming more prevalent, from stolen customer information to the hacking of government data and more recently, breaching the security of a Florida water plant.

Dr. Sahar Hooshmand received the CECS Award for Excellence by a Graduate Teaching Instructor and her nomination has been forwarded to the university for consideration for the same award at the university level.

Computer Science graduate student Brandy King has won the CECS Award for Excellence by a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

The paper won the Best Scientific Paper award at the 25th International Conference on Pattern Recognition.

A team of researchers from the AI Things Lab at UCF, consisting of Sharare Zehtabian, Siavash Khodadadeh and professor Lotzi Bölöni is participating in the XPrize Foundation’s Pandemic Response Challenge

The Computing Research Association (CRA) has an annual award for outstanding undergraduate research. “This award program recognizes undergraduate students in North American colleges and universities who show outstanding potential in an area of computing research.”

Michael Roberts (a current MS in digital forensics student and, UCF IT graduate) finished second in the nation at the 2020 DOE CyberForce Competition hosted by Argonne National Laboratory.
