Microsoft’s Build The Shield Cybersecurity Competition

Congratulations to four teams of UCF EECS students for their strong performance at Microsoft’s Build the Sheild cybersecurity competition in Redmond, WA. UCF’s teams finished 3rd, 6th, 10th, and 12th out of 50 competing teams from across the United States.

Congratulations to Drs. Niels da Vitoria Lobo and Mubarak Shah on receiving $402,880 from the NSF for their REU Site in Computer Vision. The grant is titled: “REU Site: Research Experience for Undergraduates in Computer Vision”. This is the longest-running REU Site in the US, and has been going on for over 25 years.

CCDC Team Wins 2015 SECCDC

The UCF Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team took 1st Place in the 2015 Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition held at Kennesaw State University on April 7-8. This is the third consecutive year that UCF has won 1st Place in the Southeast region.

2015 Build-The-Shield Cyber Security Competition

Four teams of UCF cyber students qualified and have been invited to compete in the 2015 Build-The-Shield cyber security competition at Microsoft HQ in Redmond, WA. The top 50 teams from across the nation will compete at the event.
