After competing in the World Finals, the UCF Programming Team finished 3rd in North America (USA and Canada) and 21st worldwide, beating teams from schools such as MIT, Stanford, and Carnegie Mellon.

The UCF Programming Team will compete Wednesday against 121 teams in the World Finals. UCF advanced to the World Finals after placing first in the Southeast Regional Contest.

The University of Central Florida’s most-winning competitive team has returned from St. Petersburg, Russia with an impressive ranking: as the world’s 48th best computer programming team.

The UCF Programming Team (including Matt Fontaine and Antony Stabile) finished fifth in the University of Chicago Invitational, completing 7 of the 10 problems posed in the 5 hour contest. They were only beaten by Waterloo, Harvard, Stanford and Princeton. The team is heading to compete in the World Finals in May.
