Congratulations to Dr. Charles Hughes
November 19, 2015
Congratulations to Dr. Charles Hughes for receiving two awards.
The paper “The Potential of Simulated Environments in Teacher Education: Current and Future Possibilities,” by Lisa Dieker, Benjamin Lignugaris/Kraft, Jacquline Rodrigues, Michael Hynes and Charles Hughes in the journal Teacher Education and Special Education received the 2015 Publication Award from the Teacher Education Division of the Council for Exceptional Children. That is their equivalent to the best paper of the year in this area. The paper actually appeared in 2014, so this award is for papers in 2014.
The paper “Providing Real-time Feedback for Student Teachers in a Virtual Rehearsal Environment,” by Roghayeh (“Leila”) Barmaki and Charles Hughes and the associated poster/demo in the Multimodal Learning and Analytics Grand Challenge 2015 at the 2015 International Conference on Multimodal Interaction (ICMI’15) received the People’s Choice Award. Roghayeh Barmaki is a PhD student working with Dr. Hughes.
