PHD Graduate Alvaro Velasquez Named to UCF’s 30 under 30

UCF CS PhD graduate Alvaro Velasquez, who received his PhD in Computer Science in 2018 (and also a bachelor’s degree in 2014 and a MS degree in 2016) was named a winner in UCF’s fifth annual 30 Under 30 Awards. According to a UCF Today story (see https://ucfalumnitoday.com/ucf-alumni-announces-2019-30-under-30-awards/), the “30 under 30 recipients are extraordinary examples of what it means to represent UCF with pride.” Dr. Velasquez has led many scientific projects with students, as well as with his own collaborators from multiple institutions including the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), where he is now permanently employed as a research scientist. These endeavors have been extremely fruitful as is evident by Alvaro’s 14 scientific publications at prestigious international venues.
