Congratulations to the UCF Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition Team and coach Dr. Tom Nedorost for an outstanding performance in the 2022 US Cyber Open. 1470 students from all 50 States and DC competed.

Eighty-nine UCF faculty received promotions and another 48 earned tenure status for the 2021-22 cycle following a rigorous evaluation process. The Department of Computer Science had four faculty members selected this year.

After beating dozens of top teams to earn seventh place, UCF will advance to the World Finals for the 11th consecutive year.

The UCF Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition (C3) Team won the 2022 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition for a record 5th time! To get to the nationals, a team must first qualify through a regional qualification round held in February.

UCF’s Knightsec team finished in 2^nd Place in the JerseyCTF II competition. Over 1200 teams registered to compete yet only 502 teams managed to score points during the 24-hour long competition.

UCF captured 3^rd Place in the 2022 NCAE Cyber Games National Championship on April 9th after previously winning the NCAE Cyber Games Southeastern Regional on February 26th.

TROSK, a start-up company created by Daniel Trimble and Ryan Carnovsky along with Michael Troisi (’21), won $7,500 in UCF’s JOUST New Venture Competition.

UCF’s C3 team keep up it’s winning tradition by placing 1st and winning a $3,000 cash prize in the 2022 CyberSEED CTF sponsored by the University of Connecticut.
