UCF CCDC Team Sweeps Regional Competition

The UCF Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team won the 2018 Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition held at Kennesaw State University in Georgia on April 2-3, 2018. UCF successfully completed 19 of the 21 available business injects, maintained 86.2% systems uptime, and lost 0 points to the Red Team (professional Penetration Testers) meaning the Red Team was unsuccessful at breaching UCF’s team network throughout the entire competition. In addition to claiming the 1st Place trophy, UCF’s team swept the competition awards by winning all three specialty awards available including the “Best in Business” award for successfully completing the highest number of business injects, the “Best in Service” award for maintain the highest percentage of systems uptime, and the “Best in Defense” award for losing the fewest points to the Red Team. The University of Florida finished in 2nd Place, and the University of South Alabama finished in 3rd Place. UCF’s CCDC Team now advances to compete in the 2018 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition championship on April 13-15, 2018 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Convention Center at Walt Disney World.
