UCF Students Win at Duel Factor CTF Competition in Tampa

On October 11, 2018, UCF had 19 members of the Hack@UCF club compete in the Duel Factor CTF Competition at Florida Cyber Con at the Tampa Convention Center. This CTF competition was open to college students and industry professionals and had two categories: individual participants and 2-person teams. There were prizes for the 1st and 2nd place winners in each category. UCF had one individual and nine 2-person teams compete. UCF captured 1st place in the individual category and 1st and 2nd place in the team category.

David Maria, SR, CpE won 1st place in the individual category and received a wireless keyboard.
Austin Sturm, MSDF and Sara Abbak, SR, CpE won 1st place in the team category and received wireless keyboards.
Matthew St. Hubin, SR, IT and Sara Aladham, SO, CS finished 2nd place in the team category and received wireless headsets.
The rest of the UCF teams also did well, as UCF had 8 teams among the top 10 positions on the final scoreboard.
