Show where it is on Webcourses ** Purpose and goals ------------------------------------------ GOALS FOR USING YELLOWDIG - Foster a learning community - Exchange ideas, questions, and experience ------------------------------------------ ** Grading ------------------------------------------ GRADING AND YELLOWDIG Counts for 15% of your grade Grade reflects your pace A weekly goal: 1000 points per week - each week you can earn 1000 points + 350 points Yellowdig sends to the gradbook: ------------------------------------------ The week runs from Saturday at 12:01 AM until midnight, Friday The 350 points you can also earn in a week is the "buffer", which would allow you to earn the required 15,000 points in Yellowdig after 11 weeks and several days (out of the 15 weeks in the semester) ... a percentage of the points earned points so far divided by -------------- (1000 * number of weeks so far) so that will fluctuate during the semester ------------------------------------------ POINTS AVAILABLE On the Yellowdig page: In the box marked "Points earned" Click on "Show details" Expand "Earning points" ------------------------------------------ show how to do that and look at the other tabs there... Currently you earn points by doing the following: Starting a conversation + 40 points for submitting a new post. + 240 points for the post having more than 40 words. Continuing a conversation + 50 points for submitting a new comment or reply. + 160 points for the comment or reply having more than 20 words. Adding specific content + 75 points for adding a video to a post or comment.
