1 Workshop Goals

My goal during workshop participation is to show that component-based systems are the missing link between workflow-management and software engineering. Component-based systems allow the flexible development of applications by separating the different aspects of development, in the same way that wfms handle the different aspects separately, especially the control aspect. Furthermore both component-based systems and wfms follow the same approach, building applications from pre-built components. Due to critcism and the response to my work from workshop participant I will try to further develop the wfms-architecture described in section 3.4. I hope to find an impetus to increase the precision of the architecture and to learn about modeling methods suitable for component-based systems.
