Since beginning my work at FZI, a research institute at the University of Karlsruhe, I followed the scientific research in the area of component-based software engineering and participated actively in WCOP96 [CS96]. The combination of workflow-management and software-engineering is my primary area of research. Therefore I participated in several workshops of the AK-Workflow, a working group of German researchers in the area of workflow-management. Furthermore, I contributed to the book summarizing the work of the AK-Workflow [JBS97].
