Trade-offs in Programming Languages

After studying the features of a few programming languages (especially C++, Java, C, Pascal and ForTran 77) we have observed that there are usually a few trade-offs between the features offered by these languages. Some of those observed by us are listed below :
 

• Execution Speed Vs. Ease of use
• Programming knowledge Vs. Particular or desired language
• Codebase and Availability of libraries Vs. A specific language
• Low Run-time costs Vs. Ease of debugging
• Simplicity of the language Vs. Power of the language
